NHS Dental Services, April-June 2010
The latest National Statistics on NHS General Dental Services produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 24 November 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
Statistics on NHS General Dental Services activity and the number of people seen include data for Wales for the period up to the end of June 2010. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 18 August 2010.
Activity between 1 April and 30 June 2010:
- A total of 1.19 million Units of NHS Dental Activity were done, representing 560,120 individual courses of treatment. This is a decrease of 3.4 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively when compared to the same period last year.
- 1.65 million patients were recorded as having been treated in the 24 months before 30 June 2010 amounting to 55.1 per cent of the population, 65.2 per cent of the child population (under 18 years old) and 52.5 per cent of the adult population (18 years or over). This is an increase of 0.1 percentage points for the per cent of population treated compared to the same period last year.
