NHS Cancer Waiting Times: Quarter Ending 30 September 2010

The latest National Statistics on Cancer Waiting times produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 1st December 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority Website Statistics on Cancer waiting times include data for Welsh Local Health Boards for the quarter up to the end of September 2010. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 1st September 2010.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • 93% of patients newly diagnosed with cancer via the Urgent Suspected Cancer route started definitive treatment within 2 months of receipt of referral at the hospital.
  • 99% of patients newly diagnosed with cancer not via the Urgent Suspected Cancer route started definitive treatment within 1 month of diagnosis.
