The latest statistics on GP Referrals produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 1 December 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh Local Health Boards for a first out-patient appointment include data for Wales for the period October 2009 to October 2010. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 3 November 2010.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • The number of GP Referrals for a first out-patient appointment received at Welsh Local Health Boards was 63,287 in October 2010.
  • This is a 2.4% decrease compared to October 2009 and a 0.1% increase compared to September 2010, at an all Wales level.
