Ambulance Services, June 2011
The latest National Statistics on the ambulance service in Wales produced by the Welsh Government were released on 3 August according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
Statistics on ambulance services in Wales include data for June 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 6 July.
The key points from the latest release are:
- there were almost 30,000 emergency calls, up 8% compared with June 2010;
- 70.0% of first responses to Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls arrived within 8 minutes, 75.0% within 9 minutes and 79.1% within 10 minutes;
- 92.7% of Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls and 79.5% of Category B (all other emergency) calls resulted in an ambulance arriving at the scene within the target times;
- 72.8% of urgent journeys arrived not more than 15 minutes later than the requested arrival time.
