NHS GP Referrals for First Out-patient Appointments, June 2011

The latest statistics on GP Referrals produced by the Welsh Government were released on 3 August 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh Local Health Boards for a first out-patient appointment include data for Wales for the period June 2010 to June 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 6 July 2011.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • The number of GP Referrals for a first outpatient appointment received at Welsh Local Health Boards was 73,770 in June 2011.
  • This is a  8.4% increase compared with June 2010 and a 7.0% increase compared with May 2011, at an all Wales level.

All figures relating to June 2011 are provisional.
