Time Spent in NHS Accident and Emergency Departments, January 2011
The latest statistics on Time Spent in Accident and Emergency Departments produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 24th February 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
Statistics on Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments include data for Wales for the period beginning January 2010 through to January 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 20th January 2011.
The key points from the latest release are:
- 85.6 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 1.8 percentage points compared with December 2010.
- 95.6 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in All Hospital Emergency Care facilities from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.2 of a percentage point compared with December 2010.
- 83.3 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 2.0 percentage point compared with December 2010.
- 94.8 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours in a Major A&E department from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.1 of a percentage point compared with December 2010.
All figures relating to January 2011 are provisional.
