Bovine TB in Great Britain
Official national statistics on the incidence of TB in cattle are published by Defra on a monthly basis. Detailed GB, regional and county statistics of Bovine tuberculosis, along with various other TB statistics are also available.
From January 2011 the terminology used to describe TB breakdowns and classify herds according to their TB status is in line with that used in EU regulations. The changes are:-
Old terminology | New terminology |
---|---|
Herds under movement restriction | Herds not officially TB free (non-OTF herds) |
Unrestricted herds | Officially TB free (OTF) herds |
New confirmed herd incidents | New herd incidents with OTF status withdrawn (OTFW) |
New unconfirmed herd incidents | New herd incidents with OTF status suspended (OTFS) |
There is no change to the composition of the underlying data. Further information on TB incident classification (PDF).
