Environment and wildlife statistics
This section covers a range of summary statistics on the environment in the United Kingdom. The main products are National Statistics, and official statistics found in the table below. Key Facts are grouped by topic and provide commentary which can be used by members of the public wanting to monitor the impact of environmental interventions or as a teaching resource. Within the topics you will also find further datasets and links to additional resources which should be useful to academia, lobbying and political groups, and local government. The content is produced free from any political interference and to standards set by UK Statistics Authority’s Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

Environmental Statistics – key facts 2011
The annual ‘Environmental Statistics – key facts’ is a downloadable version of key environmental statistics 2011. This is a replacement for the Environment In Your Pocket. The advantage being it will be regularly updated to provide the most recent figures on a whole range of environmental issues. Retaining the hyperlinks in the text allow you to more easily navigate to more information. It is more in keeping with the modern teaching resources and conforms to the wider government agenda of making data more accessible and transparent.
