Public data sources

In support of the Department's contribution to transparency, this section provides easy access to non-personal data sets published by the Department for Communities and Local Government, its agencies and non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs). Datasets have been divided into topics and can be found by following the links below. Please note that this page is under development and some of the data sets listed may have been updated.

The statistics page includes a large part of our official statistics, which are published in line with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics. You can also view the UK National Statistics calendar of statistical releases (see link at top right), which shows which releases are coming up for up to 12 months, and those statistics which have been released since 2007.

Data.gov.uk

But financial data is just one aspect of data transparency. Individuals and community groups are using a wide range of information to highlight issues, start debate or come up with solutions and ideas about what information should be available and novel ways of using it. Data.gov.uk (external link) is the forum for a lot of the latest news and updates.
