Outpatients
Ever wanted to know...
- Why people are referred to outpatient appointments?
- How many people didn't turn up for their outpatient appointment?
- Who refers patients to outpatient clinics?
We collect data on those with outpatient appointments, via the Patient Administration System (PAS).
Although no clinical data is collected, it is possible to see the specialty of the consultant seeing the patient.
Future annual publication of outpatient data will be presented in tables. This data will include details of volume of appointments and the specialty of consultants seeing the patients.
It can be downloaded from: http://www.hesonline.nhs.uk.
HES Outpatients data is also published on a monthly basis for the latest cumulative in-year position. This monthly data is provisional until the final annual data is published and it is not a National Statistic. The provisional monthly data can be found at the HES online website.
