Disability

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) defines a disabled person as someone who has a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on his or her ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.

Our statistics tell you how social services for people with disabilities are delivered. We have information about people in residential accommodation and receiving care at home, as well as registers of disabilities.

Information for the register of Blind and Partially Sighted People and the register of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are collected every three years.
