Head of Assessment
Richard Alldritt is the Head of Assessment and a member of the Board of the UK Statistics Authority. The post of Head of Assessment is a statutory post under the provisions of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007. The Head of Assessment is the Authority's principal adviser on the assessment and reassessment of official statistics and their compliance with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.
Richard is a career statistician who has worked in a number of government organisations.
He started his career in the Home Office and went on to run the strategic planning unit of what was then the Central Statistical Office.
In 1993 he was appointed Chief Statistician in the Welsh Office and then the Welsh Assembly Government.
Richard lives in London and his personal interests include theatre, food, and long walks around town.
