Professor David Rhind CBE FRS FBA

Professor David Rhind CBE FRS FBA is the Authority's Deputy Chair with responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the production and publication of all official statistics across the UK. Professor Rhind took up post on 1 July 2012 for a three-year term.
David Rhind was Chairman of the former Statistics Commission until the Commission's responsibilities were subsumed when the UK Statistics Authority was created on 1 April 2008.
He was also Vice-Chancellor and President of the City University in London until July 2007, a non-executive director on the Bank of England's Court of Directors until 2009 and Chairman of the Bank's Pension Trustee until 2012, Chair of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust Board for 4 years from 2009 and until 1998 was Director General of the Ordnance Survey.
As well as his role in the UK Statistics Authority, Professor Rhind is currently Chair of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information and Chair of the Trustees of the Nuffield Foundation.
