This local authority (LA) census is carried out each January and covers learners in Alternative Provision - where an individual is attending a school not maintained by an LA but which the authority is paying full tuition fees for. The census also includes records of learners educated outside schools and pupil referral units (PRUs), under arrangements made by the LA.
