Providers funded for more than 38 weeks –Total Funded Spring Hours
An adjustment may be made to full-time equivalent (FTE) places for children attending providers funded for more than 38 weeks of the year. The Early Years Census guide advises that in such cases the Total Funded Spring Hours should be the number of hours for which the LA is paying for the child between 1 January and 31 March (required to the nearest 0.5 hours).
The spring term should be considered to be at least 13 weeks and Total Funded Spring Hours for at least that number of weeks should be returned to ensure that the FTE adjustment calculation works correctly and local authorities receive the full allocation of funding.
