This release gives an outline of the statistics which could be obtained through analysis of administrative data from the MOT testing scheme run by the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA). It focuses on the analysis of vehicle mileages.

This note, which includes some experimental statistics, is being published experimentally as a supplement to the regular Vehicle Licensing Statistics series, with the aim of developing them further in the light of further research and user feedback. The DfT would welcome feedback to inform this development. A feedback form is available here.
