Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)

Government Statistical Service statisticians and their staff in the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) produce 'National Statistics' and other official statistics under the overall management of a Head of Profession for Statistics within the Corporate Support and Shared Services (CSSS) Directorate.

They are responsible for the provision of statistical advice to economists, policy-makers, senior officials and ministers, on a range of related statistics, and on surveys, including their commissioning.

They collect and publish statistics to internal, Office for National Statistics, other government and private sector users, operational agencies and to Parliament, in the following key topic areas:

• production and consumption
• prices
• fuel poverty
• climate change
