Food and Drink

Eating and drinking necessarily account for substantial time and expense when travelling. We have data and research on perceptions of the cost of food in Britain among inbound visitors, as well as on visits to a bastion of the British food & drink landscape: the pub.

Chapter 11 of our Market Profiles shows the propensity of visitors to go to restaurants and pubs while in Britain. Take a look at the Spanish Market Profile for an example of this.

  • Price and Value Research
    Foresight issue 108
VisitBritain commissioned research in 2012 into perceptions of price and value of a trip to Britain compared with France and Italy. Recent travellers from Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, the USA, Canada and Australia were asked about the price and value of a variety of aspects, including food & drink. The October 2012 issue of Foresight presented key findings from this research.

  • Foresight issue 103
The May 2012 edition of Foresight examined visits by international tourists to Britain's pubs, including propensity to do so according to visit type and nationality.
