Accessibility Statement
We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible to benefit all visitors. This includes those with disabilities, such as blind or partially sighted visitors.
Where possible we follow best practice and meet accessibility standards, and as we continue to enhance and develop the website, we ensure that these changes meet current standards. We aim to use technologies, such as JavaScript, in a way as to avoid creating accessibility barriers (i.e. the information or service can still be used with a non-JavaScript enabled browser).
Our aim has been that all the data is available through fully accessible routes. However, given the complexity of the website, there may be some occasions when some users experience problems - for example with the mapping functionality. If you do experience problems in finding and using the information you require then we encourage you to get in touch and we will assist in making sure you get to the information you require. This may include providing the information to you by other means such as e-mail or post.
Exceptions
This website includes a large body of legacy content. This content is not all accessible to the WCAG v1.0 level double-A standard and making all of this content retrospectively accessible would not be an effective use of our resources. We are monitoring the most frequently accessed documents that fall into this category and embarking on a program of converting these to an accessible format.
Some of the older legacy PDFs on the site may not meet the latest Adobe accessibility standard.
The Office for National Statistics is only responsible for content that is specifically part of the ONS website. We have no control over the content or security of other content and you follow any link at your own risk.
