QOF
QOF is a fundamental part of the general medical services (GMS) contract, introduced on 1 April 2004.
Published here is Northern Ireland's QOF achievement data. Information on this website includes the total number of points earned, the total payment each practice received and a breakdown of how much each practice scored in each of the clinical and non-clinical domains.
Data is also published by local commissioning group (LCG) (from 2008/09 onwards) and by legacy health board (2004/05 to 2008/09).
The QOF includes the concept of exception reporting; this concept is such that whilst pursuing the quality improvement agenda, practices would not be penalised for patient characteristics that were beyond their reasonable control. Published here are exception and exclusion rates by clinical indicator at GP practice, LCG and Northern Ireland level.
Annual QOF bulletins summarising the QOF achievement data are also available along with a factsheet on the QOF process and measures.
