This publication presents quarterly national statistics on tuberculosis (TB) in cattle (i.e. bovine TB) in Great Britain. The statistics are obtained from the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) work management IT support system, which is used for the administration of TB testing in GB. They are a snapshot of the position on the date on which the data were extracted. The information is subject to regular revision until all test results are available.
These quarterly data are published in March, June, September and December. More detailed statistics for GB, England, Scotland, Wales and the English regions are provided in the accompanying datasets.
We ran a user survey during June and July 2020. The survey asked users of our Bovine TB in Great Britain statistics to comment on publication content, frequency, geographic groupings, presentation and accessibility. The survey response document outlines the range of proposed changes.
In response to survey feedback we have stopped publishing the monthly official statistics notice. The final edition was published on 11 November 2020. Monthly data are now included in the quarterly National Statistics notice.
