The published statistics are a count of the number of starts and completions inspections carried out by Building Control officers in each council. Due to government measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19, physical inspections by Building Control offices across Northern Ireland ceased in the second half of March 2020, although some inspections were carried out virtually. All building control offices supplied data for the period Apr - Jun 2020, therefore the number of inspections recorded for Q2 2020 will represent an accurate count, but may be lower than otherwise expected.
