Labour Market and Welfare
The Labour Market and Welfare theme includes statistics measuring different aspects of work and jobs and covers people’s employment, working patterns and the types of work they do. The theme also covers any earnings and benefits they receive.
We recently commented on a range of labour market and welfare statistics. We:
- Published an update on progress by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), DWP and HMRC against recommendations of the 2015 Coherence and Accessibility of Official Statistics on Income and Earnings Review (February 2019)
- Published our findings on the compliance check of Effects and Taxes and Benefit statistics (November 2018)
- Published our response to DWP’s statistics on Fraud and Error in the Benefit system (June 2018)
Our future plans for 2019/20 include compliance checks of devolved administration Labour Market statistics, and an assessment of ONS’s Labour Market Statistics and DWP’s Benefits Statistical Summary.
