Index of Distribution for Wales: Quarter 4, 2007

The latest National Statistics on the Index of Distribution produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 3 April 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

National Statistics Kitemark Statistics on the Index of Distribution include data for Wales and the UK for the period up to quarter 4 2007. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 10 January 2008.

The Release

The key points from the latest release are:

  • The Index of Distribution for Wales for the latest four quarters rose by 3.6 per cent compared with the previous four quarters. The UK index also rose by 3.6 per cent over the same period.
  • Retail output for the latest four quarters was 3.4 per cent higher than the previous four quarters. The UK index rose 4.0 per cent over the same period.
  • Wholesale output for the latest four quarters was 4.1 per cent higher than the previous four quarters. The UK rose by 3.4 per cent over the same period.
  • Motor Trade output for the latest four quarters was 3.7 per cent higher than the previous four quarters. The UK rose by 2.7 per cent over the same period.
