Delayed Transfers of Care, June 2011
The latest statistics on Delayed Transfers of Care produced by the Welsh Government were released on 26 July 2011 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
Statistics on Delayed Transfers of Care include data for Wales on the census date 15 June 2011. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 21 June 2011.
The key points from the latest release are:
- The total number of patients experiencing a delayed transfer of care on the census date of 15 June 2011 was 471; this is a decrease of 19, or 3.9 per cent, on the figure for 18 May 2011.
- The total number of patients waiting to leave the NHS was 409. Of these, 107 were delayed in mental health facilities and 302 were in other acute and community hospitals. A further 34 patients were experiencing a delayed transfer within the NHS or waiting for an assessment and for 28 the next stage could not be determined.
