Sustainable development

Measures of everyday concerns including health, housing, jobs, crime, education and our environment.

Sustainable development is often seen as an environmental issue but it is just as much about wealth creation and tackling poverty and injustice.

The goal for sustainable development is to enable all people throughout the world to satisfy their basic needs and enjoy a better quality of life without compromising the quality of life of future generations.

Sustainable development is the internationally adopted principle that social, economic and environmental issues should be considered at the same time when plans are being drawn up and decisions are being taken for the future.

From climate change and world poverty to bio-diversity and globalisation, Wales has a real part to play in influencing change at home and on the international stage.
