Fast Stream - Assistant Statistician (AS)
Round 1 of the Fast Stream – Assistant Statistician (AS) 2012/13 will open in September. Registration is between 17 September and 17 October. Round 2 2012/13 is expected to take place in spring 2013.
Candidates who were successful at the Statistician Assessment Centre (SAC) between November 2011 and July 2012, but were unsuccessful at the Fast Stream Assessment Centre (FSAC), are able to ‘bank’ this result for one year only and carry it forward to this year’s competition. If this is the case you will not be asked to attend a SAC this year. However, you will still be required to complete all other stages of the Statistician Fast Stream Competition, regardless of previous results. Just because you passed SAC last year does not mean that you will automatically pass the manual sift, so do please take some time to complete the application form to ensure your form fully reflects your skills and experience.
The AS route is the statistical entry to the analytical strand of the Civil Service Fast Stream scheme.
To apply for a Fast Stream Assistant Statistician post, you should already have, or hope to obtain within this academic year, a minimum of a first or upper second class honours degree in a discipline containing formal training in statistical theory and methods (eg statistics, mathematics, economics, sciences, psychology, sociology).
