The latest statistics on GP Referrals produced by the Welsh Government were released on 2 January 2013 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on GP Referrals received at Welsh Local Health Boards for a first outpatient appointment include data for Wales for the period July 2012 to November 2012. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 5 December 2012.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • The number of GP referrals for a first outpatient appointment received at a Welsh Local Health Board was 65,423 in November 2012;
  • This is a 7.8% decrease compared with October 2012, at an all Wales level.

All figures relating to November 2012 are provisional.
