Social housing rent arrears

Information on the level of social housing rent arrears, as at 31 March each year. Data on social housing rent arrears is collected from local authorities and registered social landlords on an annual basis.

The information is used to monitor trends over time in the level of social housing rent arrears. It is also used  by local authorities and RSLs to monitor the number of tenants in debt and establish the requirement for financial assistance and advice.

As of March 2012, headlines and releases on social housing rent arrears  include information on social housing lettings and vacancies.  Prior to this rent arrears information was combined with social housing rents.
