Time Spent in NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments (Formerly Accident and Emergency Waiting Times): February 2008

This statistical release is a monthly series and presents the time spent by patients in Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments of NHS Trusts within Wales. The release reports on Trust performance for major A&E departments, other A&E/minor injury units, and all hospital emergency care facilities and covers the period beginning February 2007 through to February 2008.

Key results:

  • 90.8 per cent of patients spent less than 4 hours from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 2.0 percentage points compared with January.
  • 98.0 per cent of patients spent less than 8 hours from arrival until admission, transfer or discharge, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared with January.

All figures relating to February 2008 are provisional.
