The latest statistics on referral to treatment times for cardiac services produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 11 September 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

Statistics on referral to treatment times for cardiac services include data for Welsh residents who were treated by a cardiologist or cardiac surgeon during July 2008.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • 150 patients who were treated in July 2008 had waited more than 32 weeks from referral to treatment (3.9%)
  • 4 patients who were treated in July 2008 had waited more than 52 weeks from referral to treatment.
