Survey approval

Paper

Collecting data means work for someone - particularly for the person supplying the data. One of the aims of controlling surveys is to keep this work to a minimum for businesses, other organisations, and members of the public.

The Government's survey approval rules include those issued by the Prime Minister's Office on the control of statistical surveys: they have been approved by the First Minister.

These rules apply to all surveys carried out by (or for) the Welsh Assembly Government (and some other organisations linked to the Government).

If you are not sure whether the rules apply to you

If you are not sure whether the rules apply to you or whether what you are planning to do is a survey, or what kind of survey it is, please read the guidelines.

If you know that the rules apply to you

Please download the form, fill it in and send it to survey-advice@wales.gsi.gov.uk.
