The latest National Statistics produced by the Welsh Government were released on 27 March 2013 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority website Statistics on ambulance services in Wales include data for February 2013. The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 27 February 2013.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • there were just over 32,500 emergency calls, 1.2% fewer than in February 2012
  • of these, more than 13,000 were Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls, 1.8% up on February 2012
  • 60.8% (7,757) emergency responses to Category A (immediately life-threatening) calls arrived at the scene within 8 minutes, below the all-Wales target of 65% for the ninth successive month; and
  • performance in 11 of the 22 Unitary Authority areas was above the 60% UA target, up from 9 in January 2013
