We will be examining the publication arrangements to ensure they add value.
Patients spending less than 4 hours and less than 8 hours until admission, transfer or discharge.
This report covers the general principles and processes leading up to the production of our statistics.
As pre-announced in the NHS Wales Accident and Emergency Departments Statistical Release published on 30 August 2012, there is a new approach to publishing the emergency departments waiting times data for the August 2012 data onwards.

The monthly data will now be published by NHS Wales Informatics Service on their website as management information, around the 15th day of each month.

The Statistical Release and Quality report provide advice on the quality of this information and what it can be used for. This information is classified as management information as it has not gone through the additional statistical validation or interrogation that is normally the case for the official statistics outputs.

The September 2012 management information has been published by the NHS Wales Informatics Service on 15 October 2012.

A wider user consultation on our statistical outputs was also issued on 1 October and we will use this to ensure that this new approach continues to meet user needs and explore how to improve and extend this further. We will also seek your views as to how frequently we should publish these official statistics (quarterly, annually etc) in the future. For further details on the changes see the Quality Report.
