Driving tests and instructors statistics information.
The Department for Transport produces information on the number of driving and riding theory and practical tests undertaken in Great Britain, and also statistics on driving instructors.
All of the statistics are derived from data held by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) which administers the driving test scheme in Great Britain.
For more detailed statistics than are available in the published tables please contact FOI@dsa.gsi.gov.uk. Driving instructors should also use this contact for their personal statistics.

All of the statistics published are Official Statistics. The department’s view is that all statistics which are not designated as National Statistics are robust and have been produced to a suitable standard.
